Community Newsletter Out Now!
Each month the Community Engagement department puts together a newsletter called the Gielinor Globe.
The January edition is out now!
This month's newsletter is a celebration of the New Year![You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Check it out to learn about the updates you can expect this month and for the rest of 2012, read all about Mod Sabre's marathon New Year event which spanned 39 time zones, find out the results of our latest Caption Contest and Quiz Quest, and even more. 2011 has been one of the most important years ever for RuneScape, and we’ve taken giant leaps forward this year and invested more than ever before in our history. We’ve covered everything from infrastructure and technology through to development talent, near doubling the RuneScape Content Team alone in order to significantly improve this great game for many years to come.

Most of the tangible benefits will start to come through over the course of 2012, so it is truly a great year for everyone to look forward to. The game has seen the return of the Wilderness and Free Trade; huge updates such as Clan Support and Citadels; and some of the longest running story arcs culminating in the Ritual of the Mahjarrat quest.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Mod Sabre just loves New Year’s Eve. In fact, he’s not stopped telling us how much he loves it for about a month now. So, we’ve set him a challenge to put his love of New Year celebrations to the test - to see in the New Year in each and every time zone around the world.

To our surprise, he accepted, and so for all of our entertainment, Mod Sabre will attempt to celebrate New Year’s Eve 39 times in just 24hrs.

It’s a tall order to put it mildly and so we demand proof! That’s why to succeed Mod Sabre must be logged into RuneScape every time a clock strikes midnight throughout the world.

If you’d like to witness a grown man cry, then you can find more details and track his progress on our Facebook page, on Twitter (#RS24) and on our forums. And if you want to keep him company, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]see in your New Year with him or just point and laugh, you can join him on a RuneScape world near you.

Will Mod Sabre survive this ordeal? Vote now!
Looking ahead to 2012, the team have some fantastic updates planned and it’s promising to be a great year indeed!
See you all in 2012!
Mark Gerhard and the RuneScape Team
Possibly best of all, you can read all about your J-Mods' New Year resolutions! Can you guess what Mod MMG's resolution is?
We hope you enjoy the January Gielinor Globe. Happy New Year!
